What SOS Deepfake does

For every item, SOS Deepfake follows the same six steps.

  1. Check. A person makes sure it really is the protected person or brand, and content published without their consent.
  2. Keep the evidence. A dated capture of the page, its address and the account that posted it. It stays usable even if the content disappears.
  3. Pick the right grounds. Impersonation, intimate image shared without consent, image rights, copyright or registered trademark, depending on the case.
  4. Report in the right place. The platform's own form, the website's host, Google and Bing for search results.
  5. Follow up until there is an answer. No answer, SOS Deepfake follows up. A refusal, it appeals the decision or goes to the host.
  6. Keep watch. Removed content can come back. Pavois 4 checks the protected name and the links already handled every day.

What SOS Deepfake does not do

  • Decide on removal. The decision belongs to the platform or the host. SOS Deepfake commits to the work: the right grounds, dated evidence, follow-ups and appeals until there is an answer.
  • Give legal advice. SOS Deepfake is not a law firm. For a police complaint or a lawsuit, it refers you to an independent lawyer.
  • Contact the author. SOS Deepfake threatens no one and never negotiates with a blackmailer. Threats and blackmail are a matter for the police.
  • Handle cases involving minors. The service is for adults only. Help for under-18s.
  • Ask for an intimate image, a password or bank details. Never, not even "to check".
  • Take payment outside Stripe. Never in cryptocurrency, never outside the Stripe payment page. How to spot a fake removal service.

Pavois 4, the monitoring software

Pavois 4 is the monitoring software built by SOS Deepfake. It is named after the pavois, the French word for the great shield of the knights. Every day, it searches for what appears under the protected person's or brand's name, filters out the noise (namesakes, official accounts, results already seen) and keeps timestamped evidence. A person checks every finding before anything is reported. Discover Pavois 4

Frequently asked questions about SOS Deepfake

What is SOS Deepfake?
SOS Deepfake acts to get deepfakes, fake profiles, impersonation, leaked private content and fake brand accounts taken down, for individuals, professionals and businesses. It is a French online service based in Marseille, launched in October 2026. Every report is checked by a person before it is sent.
Who is behind SOS Deepfake?
SOS Deepfake was founded in Marseille by Léo. It is an independent French business, with no ties to any platform, social network or search engine. Its full name, address and company number are in the legal notice.
How much does SOS Deepfake cost?
The Personal Shield costs €29 a month or €199 a year. The Online Shield, for professionals, starts at €99 a month (€249 with the Enhanced Shield). The Business Shield starts at €249 a month. Emergency Response costs €290, a one-time payment with no subscription. The guides and the free assessment cost nothing.
How does SOS Deepfake work?
SOS Deepfake checks each item, keeps dated evidence, picks the grounds most likely to succeed, reports the item to the platform, the host, Google or Bing, then follows up until there is an answer. Its software, Pavois 4, then checks every day that nothing comes back.
Who decides whether content is removed?
The platform or the host, always. SOS Deepfake commits to the work: the right grounds, dated evidence, follow-ups and appeals until there is an answer. A refusal is not the end: SOS Deepfake appeals the decision when the platform allows it, or goes to the host.
What should I do in an emergency, if I am being blackmailed, or if the victim is a minor?
For a situation happening now, SOS Deepfake's Emergency Response costs €290: a person replies within the hour, 8 am to 10 pm Eastern Time. If you are being blackmailed, do not pay, stop replying, keep the messages and contact the police. If the victim is under 18, SOS Deepfake does not handle the case: see our help for under-18s.
Which countries and languages does SOS Deepfake cover?
SOS Deepfake works in six languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Platforms and Google accept reports from every country, so clients outside France are handled the same way. Prices are in euros. Dedicated guides cover Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
How can I check that SOS Deepfake is a real business?
SOS Deepfake's full name, address and company number are in the legal notice. Payments go through Stripe. Consumers can refer a dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator CM2C (see the terms of sale). The official profiles are listed on this page.
What is Pavois 4?
Pavois 4 is the monitoring software built by SOS Deepfake. Every day, it searches for what appears under the protected person's or brand's name, filters out the noise and keeps timestamped evidence. A person checks every finding before anything is reported.
Should I use SOS Deepfake or handle it myself?
Many steps can be taken on your own, and SOS Deepfake publishes 54 free guides for that. The service is most useful when there are many items, when they keep coming back, or when a platform refuses. The comparison remove it yourself or get help helps you choose.
