How it works

How we get content taken down

You tell us what is happening. We find the content, keep the evidence, report it in the right place and chase until there is an answer. Then we run the searches again every week, to catch copies.

What happens after you sign up

  1. Day 1

You tell us what is going on

Right after payment, a short form: what is happening, the links if you have them, your usernames or your brand. No images to send.

  2. Within 24 hours

    First reports

A person reads your case, checks each item, keeps dated evidence and files the first reports. The same day with the Priority option, for forms received before 2 pm Paris time.

  3. The following days

    Follow-ups and appeals

We track every report. If a platform does not answer or says no, we chase, challenge the decision or go straight to the host.

  4. After that

New searches and a monthly report

Every week, we run the searches again and check the links you send us. Every month, you get a report: what has been removed, what is in progress, what has been chased.

Our method

Six steps, for every item

Reporting once is not enough. What makes the difference is the grounds you choose, the evidence you attach and the follow-up.

  1. Check

Before anything is reported, a person makes sure it really is you or your brand, and that the content was posted without your consent.

  2. Keep the evidence

A dated capture of the page, its address and the account posting it. Useful if you go to the police, even if the content disappears.

  3. Pick the right grounds

Impersonation, intimate images shared without consent, privacy, copyright, registered trademark: the right grounds often make the difference between a removal and a refusal.

  4. Report in the right place

The platform's own form, the website's host, Google and Bing for search results. With the documents they ask for, and nothing more.

  5. Chase until there is an answer

No reply? We chase. A refusal? We challenge it or go to the host.

  6. Search for copies

Removed content can resurface elsewhere. We run the searches again every week, for as long as you are subscribed.

What we need, and what we never ask for

The bare minimum to act on your behalf.

What we ask you for

  • Links to the content, or a description of where you saw it
  • Your usernames and official accounts, so we never report them by mistake
  • Your permission to act on your behalf, or your company's, with a checkbox
  • For a business: your trademark number, if the mark is registered
  • If you wish, photos of your face for reverse image search

What we never ask for

  • An intimate image, even "to check"
  • Your passwords
  • Your bank details: payment goes through Stripe
  • Your ID or company documents through a form: only by email, if a platform requires them

What we do not do

Better to know before you start.

Guarantee removal

The platform or host makes the final decision. We guarantee the work, not the outcome. If no action is possible for you, we refund you.

Give legal advice

We are not lawyers. To press charges, sue, settle a dispute with another company or recover a domain name, we can refer you to an independent lawyer.

Contact the person behind it

We never threaten anyone, never negotiate with a blackmailer and never use illegal methods.

Take cases involving minors

If you are under 18, use Take It Down, free and usable from any country, or call Childline on 0800 1111 in the UK. All the help available.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get content removed?
It depends on the platform, the grounds and the host. Some removals take a few hours, others several weeks when we have to chase or go to the host. We keep you updated at every step.
Do I have to look at the content again?
No. Once you have sent us the links, you never have to open them again. We check and report them.
What if a platform says no?
We chase with new evidence, challenge the decision when the platform offers an appeal, or go to the host. If legal action becomes necessary, we can refer you to a lawyer.
What if the content comes back?
It often does, and we plan for it: we run the searches again every week for your whole subscription. Every new copy is checked and reported, at no extra cost.
How do you keep me updated?
By email at every important step, and with a monthly report listing what has been removed, what is in progress and what has been chased.
Can I send you new links?
Yes, as many as you like, to contact@sosdeepfake.com. Every link is checked, then handled.
