Fake profiles
Get a fake profile in your name removed
Someone is pretending to be you, using your photos on another profile, or selling a scam with your face? We get those accounts shut down and watch for the ones that come back.
The forms of online impersonation
- Clone accounts: a copy of your account (same name, same picture) that messages your followers or friends.
- Catfish profiles: your photos used under another name, often for romance scams.
- Scam ads: your face or voice used to promote a fake investment or product. Read our guide.
- Fake business accounts: a fake executive, recruiter or customer service account in your company's name.
Why speed matters
Your circle is targeted
The fake account asks for money, codes or photos from the people who trust you.
Your audience is misled
Followers, patients, clients: every scam victim links your name to the fraud.
Accounts come back
A closed account is often recreated days later under a similar name.

Guides by platform
What the law says
All major platforms ban accounts that pretend to be someone else, and this is usually the fastest route to removal. In law, impersonation used to harm, harass or defraud is a criminal offence in many places: several US states have specific online impersonation laws, France punishes it with up to one year in prison and a €15,000 fine (Criminal Code, art. 226-4-1), and fraud laws apply everywhere when money is involved. Using an AI-generated likeness of you can also break deepfake and privacy laws.
