Under 18? You do not have to handle this alone: our under-18 page lists free, confidential help.

1. Save evidence without spreading the images

Telegram channels and groups vanish and come back fast. Before you report anything, write down:

  1. The channel or group link (t.me/name for a public channel, t.me/+… for a private invite) and its exact name.
  2. The link to each message: in a public channel, the message menu lets you copy its link (t.me/name/1234).
  3. A screenshot showing the channel name, the message and the date. Where you can, crop or cover the intimate part: what you need to prove is the post, not your body.
  4. The subscriber or member count, visible admin names, and any messages targeting you (your name, town, Instagram handle).

Some channels turn on "protected content", which blocks screenshots and forwarding. If so, photograph the screen with another device.

Do not forward the images to friends so they can report them (send them the link only), do not argue with admins, and do not pay an "admin" or a service promising guaranteed removal.

2. Report each message in the app

Every Telegram app has a Report button:

  1. Android: tap the message, then Report.
  2. iPhone: press and hold the message, then Report.
  3. Desktop and web: right-click the message, then Report.

Pick the closest reason offered (pornography, privacy violation or illegal content). Report each message, then the channel itself from its profile. Someone you trust can do this for you if you do not want to see the images again.

3. Contact Telegram directly

  1. @TIDABot: Telegram's channel for non-consensual intimate images under the TAKE IT DOWN Act. Telegram says you or your representative can report content through it. Since May 19, 2026, the FTC enforces the Act: covered platforms must remove the images named in a valid request, real or AI-generated, and known identical copies within 48 hours.
  2. abuse@telegram.org: the address Telegram gives for takedown requests about illegal content. Include the t.me/… link of each message, say you are the person shown and did not consent. Our takedown request template gives you the wording.
  3. The EU DSA form (telegram.org/dsa-report): if you are in the EU, Telegram has an illegal content form under the Digital Services Act. It asks for your name, contact details and a clear explanation of why the content is illegal.
  4. dmca@telegram.org: if you took the photos yourself (selfies, creator content), you own the copyright. Telegram takes copyright requests for public channels, groups and bots. See also OnlyFans leak removal.
  5. @NoToScam: if a channel pretends to be you (your name, your profile photos), this is Telegram's official account for impersonation.

4. Public channel or private group: what changes

Telegram's FAQ says private groups and chats are private among their participants and that it does not process third-party requests about them. In practice:

  • Public channel or group (it has an @name or a t.me/name link): reports and emails have a real chance of working.
  • Private, invite-only group: if you or someone you trust is a member, the Report button still works. Otherwise, a police report is the main route, because only investigators can get information from Telegram.

5. Report it to the police

  • United States: report to your local police. If someone demands money or more images to delete the content, it is sextortion: also report it to the FBI at IC3.gov. The Cyber Civil Rights Initiative runs a crisis helpline for victims.
  • United Kingdom: call 101, or 999 in an emergency. Sharing an intimate image without consent, or threatening to, is an offense in England and Wales (Sexual Offences Act 2003, section 66B), including images that only appear to show you. The Revenge Porn Helpline supports adults in the UK and helps with removal.
  • European Union: report to your national police or online reporting platform. You can also complain to your country's Digital Services Coordinator if Telegram ignores its DSA duties (Article 53 DSA).

If someone asks for money or more images, see our sextortion guide.

6. Stop the spread outside Telegram

  • StopNCII.org creates a digital fingerprint of the image on your own device (the image never leaves it), which partner platforms use to block uploads. It accepts AI-generated images too, if you are over 18 in the image. Be aware: Telegram is not a StopNCII partner (partner list checked in October 2026). It protects Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, X, Snapchat and the other partners, not Telegram.
  • Google: web previews of public channels can be indexed. Google's intimate image removal form covers real and fake images. See remove a Google result.
  • Other sites: Telegram channels often link to forums and leak sites. Deal with each copy using our leak guide. If the image is fake, see fake nude deepfake.

7. What the law says

In the US, the TAKE IT DOWN Act makes it a federal crime to knowingly publish non-consensual intimate images, real or AI-generated, and most states have their own laws. In England and Wales, section 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 applies. In France, it is two years in prison and a €60,000 fine (Criminal Code, article 226-2-1). Telegram's own terms ban illegal pornographic content on public channels. This page is general information, not legal advice: for your own case, talk to a lawyer.

Get your photos removed from Telegram and beyond

If you do not want to see these images again or keep checking channels yourself, our service to remove leaked content handles it: we find the channels and copies, report them to Telegram and other sites on the right grounds, follow up, and search for new copies every week. A person checks every request before it is sent. We cannot promise removal from a private group: a police report is still needed for that. See pricing.

FAQ

How do I get my photos removed from Telegram?
Report each message in the app, then use @TIDABot or email abuse@telegram.org with the t.me/… link of each message. In the EU, you can also use Telegram's DSA form. Save the evidence first.
Does Telegram remove content from private groups?
Telegram says it does not process third-party requests about private groups and chats. A member can still use the Report button. Otherwise, a police report lets investigators act.
Does StopNCII work on Telegram?
No. Telegram is not on StopNCII's partner list. It still helps stop the images moving from Telegram to Instagram, TikTok, Reddit or X.
Can I find out who posted my photos?
Telegram will not tell you directly. Only a police investigation can request that information. Note anything that could help: admin usernames, details only someone close to you would know.
The channel was deleted and came back under a new name. Now what?
That is common. Save evidence of the new channel, report it the same way and add it to your police report. Regular monitoring catches each copy early.
The photos are AI fakes. Is it the same process?
Yes. Same reports, and the TAKE IT DOWN Act covers "digital forgeries" too. See our fake nude deepfake guide.
